This handcrafted Chawan by ceramic artist Beatričė Kelerienė was fired in the Dūkštos anagama wood kiln, where natural ash, flame, and prolonged heat shaped its expressive, wabi-sabi character. The bowl features a classic tea ceremony form with a stable foot, gently curved walls, and an inviting interior perfect for holding in the hands.
During the five-day firing, ash settled onto the clay and melted into warm ochre tones, soft greys, and smoky charcoal patches. Natural speckling and subtle flashing effects highlight the individuality of true anagama work. Each mark is a record of the kiln’s atmosphere, making this Chawan a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art.
Ideal for matcha, tea rituals, or as a collectible wood-fired vessel.
