This handcrafted katakuchi bowl by ceramic artist Beatrice Kelerienė was fired in the Dūkštos Anagama wood kiln, where ash and flame created its rich, naturally speckled surface. The katakuchi form, recognized by its elegant pouring spout, makes this vessel both practical and expressive — ideal for whisking and pouring matcha, serving sauces, or enhancing a tea ritual.
During the five-day firing, wood ash settled onto the clay and melted into deep reddish-brown tones, smoky charcoal variations, and soft golden highlights. Natural texturing and speckling throughout the bowl capture the dynamic atmosphere of the anagama kiln, making every angle visually engaging.
Stable on its foot and warm to the touch, this piece offers both beauty and function — a collectible example of authentic wood-fired ceramics.
