This handcrafted Hohin teapot by ceramic artist Beatrice Kelerienė was created and wood-fired in the Dukstos Anagama kiln, where ash, flame, and prolonged heat shaped its warm, naturally varied surface. The Hohin, a traditional Japanese handleless teapot, is especially valued for brewing high-quality teas such as Gyokuro or Sencha, offering excellent control and a pure tea experience.
The vessel features a sculpted pouring spout, a well-fitting lid, and subtle thumb rests on the sides for steady handling. During the multi-day anagama firing, melting ash formed the rich transitions of earthy browns, smoky greys, and golden highlights seen across its surface. Natural speckling and flame-born markings make this piece completely unique — a true product of the kiln’s atmosphere.
A functional piece of tea culture and a collectible example of authentic wood-fired craftsmanship.
