This ash-glazed ceramic bowl by ceramic artist Beatričė Kelerienė was shaped on the wheel and transformed in a wood-fired kiln at 1300°C, where natural ash settled onto the clay and melted into a soft, crystalline surface. The result is a bowl with a serene, atmospheric palette — gentle greys, pale creams, and subtle hints of smoky blush blending together like a distant landscape.
The swirling ash patterns form delicate waves and organic textures that can only be achieved through high-temperature wood firing. No glaze was painted on; instead, the bowl’s natural sheen and intricate details emerged solely from the movement of flame, drifting ash, and the intense heat of the firing process.
Its refined, open shape and elevated foot give the bowl a sense of lightness and elegance, making it suitable for daily use or contemplative display.
