This Anagama-fired cup by ceramic artist Beatričė Kelerienė showcases the quiet drama and natural elegance that only a wood kiln can create. Its gently flared silhouette offers a graceful, tactile presence, while the surface reveals the unmistakable marks of flame, ash, and high heat. During the five-day Anagama firing, wood ash settled onto the clay and melted into soft golden tones, blending into deep, smoky greens and charcoal blacks. These atmospheric transitions wrap the cup like a landscape at dusk - warm on one side, shadowed on the other, telling the story of how the fire moved around the form. The elevated foot gives the cup a sense of lightness, while the inner surface glows with a dark, reflective depth. Every variation is natural, unrepeatable, and created entirely by the firing process—no applied glaze, only clay, ash, and flame.
