This 33 cm Anagama-fired vase is a refined atmospheric work distinguished by its full, rounded profile and richly layered surface. The vessel’s form carries a quiet, classical solidity, while its firing effects introduce a dynamic, contemporary edge - an interplay collectors value in wood-fired ceramics.

During the five-day Anagama firing, drifting embers and airborne ash settled unpredictably across the surface, producing a tapestry of greys, warm rust tones, and shimmering mineral deposits. The small glazed craters and pearl-like ash spots are the direct result of extreme heat interacting with natural ash - subtle but highly prized features that speak to the authenticity of the process.

The vase’s gently flared rim adds elegance and proportion, while the lower half reveals deeper reduction tones and soft gradients. Each rotation of the vessel reveals a different atmospheric event recorded in clay.

This expressive, fire-driven sensibility resonates with the material approach admired in the work of ceramic artists such as Beatričė Kelerienė, where form, texture, and kiln atmosphere merge into a coherent sculptural language.

Collectors will appreciate this vase for:

  • its richly atmospheric Anagama surface, impossible to reproduce through glaze alone;

  • its balanced, museum-quality form, ideal for display;

  • its one-of-a-kind firing signature, created by ash, flame, and time;

  • its manageable yet substantial scale (33 cm), suitable for both shelf and pedestal presentation.

A distinguished and singular addition to any serious wood-fired ceramics collection.
