This small handmade vase by ceramic artist Beatrice Kelerienė was fired in Dūkštos Anagama wood-fired kiln, where wood ash, flame, and time created the unique surface textures and color transitions seen on the piece. Its rounded form gently narrows toward the rim, giving the vase a soft, inviting presence.
One side of the vase features a striking fire-kissed circle, created where intense heat and ash accumulated during the firing. Surrounding this mark, natural gradients of golden ochre, grey, and warm earthy tones melt into one another, forming a surface that is both organic and visually rich. The speckled ash deposits and subtle texturing highlight the unpredictability and beauty of anagama firing - no glaze, just the raw collaboration between clay and flame.
Perfect as a small sculptural accent, or for displaying a single stem or dried arrangement, this vase stands as a uniquely expressive piece of wood-fired ceramic art.
