This handcrafted stoneware vase by ceramic artist Beatričė Kelerienė draws inspiration from the timeless form of a traditional pitcher while embracing the expressive unpredictability of anagama wood firing. Shaped on the wheel and fired for many hours in a single - chamber wood kiln, the piece carries the natural markings of flame, ash, and heat - effects impossible to replicate and unique to each firing.

Earthy browns, soft greys, and warm golden tones flow across the surface, created not by applied glaze but by the molten wood ash that settles on the vessel during firing. These subtle gradients and glossy–matte transitions make the vase feel both ancient and contemporary.

The classic pitcher shape - rounded belly, elegant neck, and hand-pulled handle - adds sculptural presence and everyday functionality. Whether used as a flower vase, a decorative accent, or a collector’s object, it highlights the beauty of slow craft and the living process of wood-fired ceramics.
