This handcrafted Chawan by ceramic artist Beatričė Kelerienė was fired in the Dūkštos Anagama wood kiln, where ash, flame, and prolonged high heat shaped its organic surface and warm, earthy character. The bowl features a classic tea-ceremony form with a grounded foot, gently curving walls, and a tactile exterior ideal for holding during tea preparation.
The anagama firing produced natural ash deposits that melted into the clay, creating a beautiful interplay of sandy beige, warm ochre, and smoky charcoal tones. Random speckling and slight gradient shifts make each area of the bowl unique, expressing the wabi-sabi spirit of traditional wood-fired ceramics. Inside, the surface reveals a rich, warm color with natural variations from the flame path.
Perfect for matcha, tea rituals, or as a collectible piece of authentic anagama-fired ceramic art.
